A solid technological offer and a firm commitment to the development of advanced monitoring applications, along with an approach based on the future of the Internet, have placed us in a strategic position to innovate in civil applications for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV).
ITG is the first research center in Galicia to be recognized as a National Operator by the Spanish Agency for Air Safety (AESA). Among other tasks, our work includes the developing of embedded technology for forest areas, long range RFID systems, autonomous takeoffs and landings, and the supervision and maintenance of industrial facilities.
In the coming years, ITG plans to allocate € 2.5 million for the development of avionics and unmanned aerial systems.

Technology Center for renowned companies

Babcock MCS España
Babcock Mission Critical Services (MCS) España, known as Inaer until 2017, is a Spanish aeronautical company that provides aircraft emergency and maintenance services.
Within the framework of the Civil UAVs Initiative, ITG is involved in the development of several UAV control systems, intelligent mission software and the simulation center for pilot training.

SDLE
Star Defence Logistics & Engineering (SDLE), in cooperation with ITG, has set up the first Mixed Research Unit (MRU) in Galicia specializing in unmanned aircraft.
With a budget of more than € 2 million and a team of twelve researchers, this company will develop technology to operate drones with greater autonomy and in complex civil scenarios.

Indra Systems
Indra is one of the leading global consulting and technology companies. It develops its own solutions and advanced value-added technology services for a variety of sectors.
Within the framework of the Civil UAVs Initiative, ITG is involved in the design and development of services and advanced features of its Data Processing and Mission Center (CMPD).

New applications
Using new drone applications to develop profitable businesses requires proper coordination between platforms, mission equipment (sensors, cameras, etc.) and other additional components.
Our Data Centers and Cloud Data Mining Systems offer advanced options and features such as mission data acquisition, intelligent processing by type of information, data storage, integration of external sources, and advanced services for data collection and mining. As opposed to other completely customized and not very flexible solutions, the use of this type of tools offers important advantages for the implementation and consolidation of businesses in the field of civil applications for drones, since it drastically reduces the time to market and the operation and maintenance costs.
Our R+D lines
The development of control systems certifiable by national and international aeronautical authorities, the intelligent mission software for the completion of scheduled actions, the advanced data processing services, and the airspace management procedures are some of the R+D lines on which the ITG technology center will work over the next few years.
Our R+D strategy also includes the launch of other technological lines with great potential: simulators for payload operations and instructions, the software for air traffic control, and the design of data centers for RPA data mining. An intense activity that will enable the application of this type of aircrafts to maritime-fishing control, firefighting, the protection of cultural heritage, emergency management, and the agroforestry and tourism sector.
