INNO4H2O
Innovation Ecosystem of the Water Sector
Description
Water is one of the basic and essential resources for life and also a strategic component of the economies of the different countries on the planet. Furthermore, it is a sector that, within the framework of the ecological transition, presents enormous economic potential. But Spain also faces a country challenge associated with water scarcity, which is usually described as one of the most pressing or first-order threats to the water cycle. For this reason, this INNO4H2O Innovation Ecosystem is aimed at the entire water management value chain, with the aim of grouping all the different agents in the sector and guiding them towards more sustainable management through the implementation of ‘Technologies and tools that allow the increase of water resources’.
The INNO4H2O project: Innovation Ecosystem of the WATER sector, is coordinated by the ITC technology center, and has the participation of other technology centers such as ITCL and ITG. In addition, the companies FACSA, EMIVASA, ADASA, SCOPE and TINAMICA participate in this project. . This project has been financed by CDTI through the call for aid for Innovation Ecosystems, within the framework of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research for Innovation and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
Thus, INNO4H2O aims to create a collaboration network that facilitates the technological transfer of the solutions obtained by its members for sustainable water management. To this end, any entity in the sector interested in the latest technologies will be able to adopt and implement advanced services based on the technologies developed by the members of the consortium through 3 priority axes: Circular Economy, Smart Water and Water-Energy.
These services, focused on the application of research/developed technologies in the previous Cervera networks of excellence (CelIA and HysGrid) complemented with the knowledge of all members and implemented through this Ecosystem, will serve as a means of commercial penetration towards companies in the sector that are susceptible to improving their processes. After the end of the Innovation Ecosystem execution period, the technological tools developed will be marketed through the participating companies and technology centers, achieving market implementation of the high added value services developed in INNO4H2O.
