Description

Providing drinking water supply to the ‘English Way’, as an example of mitigation of the environmental impacts derived from the consumption of bottled water on European nature trails and cultural itineraries. At the same time, the project aims to determine a strategy to recover natural sources as a micro-supply solution in areas where centralised drinking water networks do not reach. It is organised into 5 goals:

  1. To determine an action protocol that can be extrapolated to any environment and situation in the face of the current health risks of water consumption from natural springs,
  2. To design a prototype of a low-cost treatment system, unprecedented in this type of supply,
  3. To achieve the sustainability of the service by introducing a new approach to cost recovery,
  4. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the action in a context determined by the demand for consumption
  5. To provide tools that encourage the replication of this initiative in other municipalities.
