ITG presents the smart energy management system for the automotive industry at CEAGA’s General Meeting

26 March 2019 – Santiago Rodríguez Charlón, head of the Energy Department of the Technological Institute of Galicia (ITG), presented the Auto-Energy 4.0. management system at the General Meeting of the Cluster of Automotive Companies of Galicia (CEAGA) a system that uses new technologies for the digitalization of the energy sector and offers ITC tools for an intelligent energy management.

We meet the demands in terms of intelligent energy management of 12 of the cluster companies through FlyThings®, the IoT solution created by ITG to respond to the needs of the Industry 4.0.

As a result of some of the specific measures we have proposed, there has been an energy saving of 5% in the total consumption of the production plant, with an investment that will be recoverable in 4.5 years.

Thus, ITG responds to the specific needs of twelve of the companies that make up CEAGA, and provides each of them with customized solutions that may be applied to other companies in the sector. Some of the proposed specific measures have resulted in energy savings of up to 5% of the total consumption of the production plant.

Auto-Energía 4.0 monitors consumption and parameters related to energy and in-house processes. It is based on Flythings, the Internet of Things solution created by ITG to meet the demands of the Industry 4.0. which allows to store, monitor and give value to millions of data transferred in real time by multiple sensor devices. This system will make it possible to use predictive analytics or intelligent analytics techniques in the future to propose specific actions.

Moreover, this solution enables the identification of measures to improve energy efficiency and to monitor, control and manage the facility, in accordance with the paradigm 4.0.

CEAGA has received funding from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism in order to pursue this initiative.

CEAGA ha obtenido financiación por parte del Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Turismo
