Cervera Centre of Excellence

The main objective of the H2ENRY group is the creation of a network of excellence, focused on the Cervera Priority Technology (TC) of Energy Transition: TC10 – Green Hydrogen (H2) Technologies, through which the development of disruptive technologies is promoted in the field of generation, purification, storage and transportation of green hydrogen. H2ENRY aims to facilitate the decarbonization of the spanish economy, through the creation of integration and diagnosis tools for these technologies that allow their transfer and subsequent exploitation, contributing to a sustainable energy transition.

The main challenge of H2ENRY is the research and transfer of knowledge of innovative and low energy consumption technologies for the generation of renewable hydrogen from the reuse of surpluses and renewable energy sources, its subsequent purification and chemical storage, as well as the integration of digitalization and diagnostic tools that allow increasing the efficiency of processes.

To achieve this challenge, the following activities will be carried out:

• Deepen knowledge and improve technological capabilities, through the development of disruptive renewable hydrogen production technologies.
• Participate in the development of a digital tool that allows optimizing the integration of hydrogen production processes.
• Train the Network with the knowledge necessary to address the challenges identified, and that must be overcome as part of the energy transition that is the object of the network.
• Increase capabilities by incorporating national and international talent.
• Maximize positioning regarding the individual actions of the partners and their current international situation.
• Increase the participation of the group’s centres in international platforms and associations.
• Work together with the Spanish industrial fabric to improve its positioning in TC10, through participation in international projects, participation in platforms and forums.
• Reinforcement of the research capabilities of the Network partners and generation of a knowledge network in the contemplated technologies.
• Collaboration of the centres throughout the hydrogen value chain to improve their capabilities and improve their market orientation due to their complementarity.
• Strengthening the individual and collective capacity of the network to be able to support target companies.
