LUCUS

The LUCUS project P9 aims to design, develop, and validate a U-Space ecosystem compliant with European regulation (EU 2021/664), ensuring the safety of simultaneous UAS operations. This ecosystem will include a certifiable U-space Service Provider (USSP) by Airbus, an additional USSP based on AIRUS for multi-USSP testing, a Common Information Service (CIS) compliant with European regulations, and an information exchange platform between USSPs following ASTM standards and reusing open-source elements like DSS.

Additionally, the LUCUS project P10 advanced U-space services not covered by current regulation will be developed to enhance safety in higher-risk scenarios and add value for operators. These services will enable denser and more complex operations, including the integration of autonomous functionalities to improve safety against contingencies and emergency management with predictive aspects to anticipate strategic responses.
