WaterNanoEnv

Detection of nanopollutants in reservoirs and sewage plants

Category Regional
Sectors Integrated Water Cycle
Execution Period 2015 – 2017
Funding Axencia Galega de Innovación (GAIN – Xunta de Galicia)

Description

Early detection of pollutants in reservoir water by developing nanosensors capable of reacting in the presence of cyanotoxins and bacteria such as e-coli and enterococci. The impact of nanoresidues in the purification stage, a problem for which wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) are not adequately designed, will also be analysed.
