Description

ARQADE is a strategic project aimed at positioning the consortium as a leader in the application of quantum computing and artificial intelligence in Spain within the Defense domain, while delivering solutions that can also be transferred to key civilian sectors. The goal is to develop secure and accessible technologies that remove entry barriers to quantum computing, strengthening technological sovereignty and the national industry.

To demonstrate the real impact of the project, three operational scenarios will be validated:

  • Advanced ISR Image Analysis: Solutions will be developed to process satellite and aerial images in quantum cloud environments, applying hybrid algorithms to automatically identify relevant elements such as vehicles, infrastructure, or individuals in surveillance missions.
  • Optimization of Drone Swarm Deployment: Quantum computing-based methods will be designed to plan UAV distribution, maximizing territorial coverage and ensuring secure communications, even under risk conditions or unexpected changes.
  • Robust GPS-Free Positioning Estimation: Quantum algorithms will be developed to integrate data from multiple sensors, maintaining navigation and coordination accuracy for drones and ground vehicles in environments where GNSS signals are blocked or degraded.

Quantum Technology Applications

  • Applied Quantum Algorithms: Development of quantum and hybrid algorithms for image classification, signal analysis, and prediction in military environments, integrating Tensor Networks and Quantum Reservoir Computing to enhance detection and anticipation in critical missions.
  • Quantum Optimization for Logistics and Operations: Application of techniques such as QAOA and hybrid heuristics for dynamic target and route allocation in drone swarms, maximizing coverage and resilience in ISR and combat scenarios.
  • Post-Quantum Cybersecurity and Secure Communications: Integration of PQC/QKD solutions to protect C4ISR networks and tactical communications, including hybrid KMS and QKaaS services, aligned with international standards and NATO protocols.
