Description
BIOMASA CAP enhances the visibility and perception of biomass that is not valued but has high potential, as a strategic resource for sustainable economic, technological, social and environmental growth and development in the Galicia-North Portugal cross-border territory. The capitalization actions that will be carried out in the project aim to promote the improvement of the competitiveness of the productive fabric in the cross-border area, generating opportunities for the creation of wealth and employment in rural areas, since it is in these territories where agroforestry farms, generating unvalued biomass.
To achieve this objective, the following activities will be carried out:
- Expansion and strengthening of the Cross-Border Biomass Network, created in Biomasa-AP (previous project) and which had more than 130 members.
- Training and awareness on the use of high potential non-recovered biomass as a strategic resource for technological, economic and social development in the cross-border territory.
- Training and dissemination of the evaluated technologies to the agents of the biomass value chain, through demonstration sessions in entities of the sector and in the R&D centers involved in the project.
- Dissemination in educational centers to make young people aware of the opportunities and potential offered by endogenous biomasses not valued in the cooperation territory.
- Strengthening of the process of co-creation of public policies through the detection of common strategies for optimal development and exploitation of non-recovered biomass in the territory, with the collaboration of the agents of the biomass value chain and policy makers.
