Automated Satellite-Based Forest Certification & Monitoring Platform

Category National
Sectors Forestry
Execution Period 2024 - 2025
Funding Ministerio de Industria y Turismo. Programa de Apoyo a los Digital Innovation Hubs (PADIH)

Description

Service for the development of an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning prototype to facilitate the forest mass certification process through satellite imagery for Cerna. The solution integrates with existing systems and offers the ability to adapt to other types of monitoring, such as water leak detection for municipalities.

Objectives:

  • Develop a highly specialized computer vision system capable of processing high-resolution and high-frequency satellite images to detect changes in forest cover.
  • Implement deep learning algorithms for automated image analysis and detection of change patterns in forest cover.
  • Provide real-time notifications about significant changes in forest cover, enabling timely responses to critical events.
