Description

The goal of Resilient is the development and implementation of vineyard cover crops, combined with digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI), to optimize agronomic resources, reduce winery energy consumption, and advance towards more sustainable and resilient viticulture.

Through the use of advanced sensors, digital platforms, and AI algorithms, key vineyard variables (soil moisture, water requirements, crop vigor, etc.) will be monitored in real time to improve irrigation efficiency, reduce the use of fertilizers and plant protection products, and minimize water and energy consumption both in the vineyard and in the winery. This technological integration will allow for more precise agronomic decision-making, contributing to reduced inputs and increased must and wine quality.

This innovative approach is of general interest as it provides solutions aligned with environmental challenges, the digitalization of the agri-food sector, and the energy transition. Furthermore, it actively contributes to the objectives of the European Green Deal, especially to the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices, the use of ICT and AI in rural areas, and the development of a cleaner and more efficient agri-food industry.

Objectives:

  • Improve processes aimed at environmental protection, climate change mitigation, and adaptation using cover crops that reduce soil erosion and the carbon footprint.
  • Generate added value through the practical application of digital technologies and AI in agriculture.
  • Promote applied innovation with a real impact on the quality of life of farmers, fostering the digitalization of rural areas, population settlement, and job creation.
