Description

DIG4.OVO is an initiative funded by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism through the 2023 call of the support program for AEIs (Business Innovation Clusters). The general objective of the DIG4.OVO project is to enhance the competitiveness of the egg-laying poultry sector through the development of a collaborative platform based on advanced digitalization tools aimed at achieving an efficient value chain, offering a quality product, committed to sustainable development, and ensuring animal welfare. The platform will allow for the improvement of the techno-economic performance of the process and the quality of the final product, while favoring energy efficiency (reduction of consumption) and environmental efficiency (reuse of by-products), as well as improving farm health. Specific objectives:
– Analyze in real-time the energy consumption and the quality of the feed in poultry farms, maximizing production and quality within a sustainable framework and animal welfare.
– Identify key parameters in the egg production chain, defining the process variables that condition egg-laying poultry production to take them into account in the different correlations developed.
– Generate advanced 4.0 tools to achieve a continuous production process, integrating real-time control sensors and automated analysis systems that allow for production and energy efficiency improvements.
– Utilize various by-products from the agri-food sector as new sustainable ingredients for the formulation of chicken feed.
– Reduce the incidence of diseases and improve animal digestibility, defining the feed formulation through Deep learning techniques.
– Improve the physical quality of the egg without compromising efficiency and profitability, offering consumers an egg with good external characteristics (properly formed shell) and internal characteristics (yolk color intensity).
